Pauline Mae Lilly, age 78, answered God’s call and entered Eternal rest, Friday, April 6, 2018 while a patient at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, North Carolina. Pauline and her twin brother, Paul, were born May 8, 1939 in Montgomery County, North Carolina. Their parents, William Edgar and Nannie Pemberton Lilly, preceded Pauline in death. We are thankful for the many years we shared Pauline’s life.
She was educated in the public schools of Stanly County, North Carolina; and was a 1958 graduate of Kingville High School, Albemarle, North Carolina. Pauline was employed and retired from Metal Forge Automotive, Albemarle. Her church affiliation was with Saints Delight Church, Albemarle. At Saints Delight, she was a member of the Usher’s Board and was eager to assist where her services were needed. In her leisure, Pauline enjoyed her membership at The Elwood Lodge #338, playing Bingo, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her siblings: Odell Lilly, Theodore Lilly, Benjamin Lilly, Chester Lilly, Bernice L. Moses and Shirley Foster; her special friend and companion for over thirty- four (34) years, George Hyatt, Jr.
Pauline’s physical presence is no longer with us, but her memory and the love she shared with family and friends will remain in the hearts of; her son, Kenneth B. Lilly, Charlotte, North Carolina; five grandchildren: Alextis Davis and Karsten Watkins, both of Albemarle, Kennez Motley, Washington, D.C., Tiara Bowden, Atlanta, Georgia and Latrice (Santiago) Turner, Charlotte, North Carolina; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Philmore Lilly and Paul Lilly, both of Albemarle; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
