Mary Katherine (Tillman) Morrison

Centurion, Mrs. Mary Katherine Tillman Morrison, age 102, a true matriarch entered God’s Golden Gate, Thursday, October 17, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 10, 1917 in Stanly County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Boss and Lilla Crump Tillman. Forever in our hearts, she was loved, adored and will be dearly missed. Our family was truly blessed to have shared her life for so many years. Mama was ‘everyone’s Godmother’ and she treated all like family.

She attended the Stanly County public schools and was employed in domestic service. A believer, Mary was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Albemarle, North Carolina. In her leisure, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, reading and most of all preparing a meal for her family as well as others in the community.

Mary has joined her parents; her husband, John Henry Morrison; sons: Albert Knight, David Morrison, Roger Morrison and Ernest Morrison; daughter, Joyce Ann Morrison; grandchildren: Jeffrey Morrison and Trina Boyd; siblings: John Tillman, Wilson Tillman, Joe Tillman, Jean Tillman, Daisy Tillman, Patricia West, Audy Wilson and Maudy Crump in her Heavenly home.

A legacy of love and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of her sons: John L. (Gloria) Morrison, Greensboro, North Carolina and Henry E. Morrison, Albemarle; daughters: Betty (Levander) Edwards, Mary Hearne and Catherine Elaine Morrison, all of Albemarle; twenty grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends.
