George Washington Dunlap, Sr.

George Washington Dunlap Sr., age 79, entered Eternal rest Wednesday, July 17,2019 while a patient at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Albemarle, North Carolina. We give thanks to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing us to share so many fond memories with George.

Born February 22, 1940 in Anson County, North Carolina, George was the son of the late Nezzie Dunlap. He was educated in the Anson County public schools and was employed with Collins & Aikman, Albemarle, North Carolina prior to retirement.

He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Norwood, North Carolina and was a member of the Usher Board. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.

George’s wife, Margaret Ann Grate Dunlap preceded him in death in December 2011.

Those left to cherish loving memories are: a son, George W. Dunlap Jr., Wilkesboro, North Carolina; brother, Bobby (Betty) Dunlap, Norwood, North Carolina; step sons: Victor (Petra) Ellis, New York, New York and Marvin (Ruth) Ellis, Georgetown, South Carolina; step daughter, Lynette Ellis, Andrews, South Carolina; six step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; two step great- great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Velma Kendall, Patricia Howell and Nancy Howell; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
