As his arms and hands lost strength to hold the rope of life, Demeterus Mitchèll Goode earthly life came to a close on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, North Carolina. We, his family and friends, thank God for allowing us to share in his life. “Every time we remember, every time we think of you, we say thank GOD”. Philippians 1:1-4
Born October 18, 1991 in Stanly County, North Carolina, he was the son of Octavia D. Shankle and William G. Goode. His formal education was received in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg public school system, Charlotte, North Carolina; and he was also enlisted in the Job Corp. Demeterus was self-employed.
His church affiliation was with the St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church, Huntersville, North Carolina. He enjoyed life to the fullest and enjoyed drawing, playing basketball, telling jokes and playing video games. Collecting various styles of shoes was also a favorite. Demeterus loved sharing his talent with others as a “Rap Artist”.
Now that he has crossed that eternal river, he joins love ones who have gone before him: his grandparents, Dorothy Gramling and Ernest Brown.
Demeterus leaves cherished memories with his parents, Octavia D. Shankle and William G. Goode; four brothers: Malcolm J. Shankle, Charlotte, North Carolina, William Robinson, Raleigh, North Carolina, Terrance Little and Lee Goode, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; grandparents, Howard (Mildred) Shankle, Charlotte, North Carolina and Mary E. Brown, Salisbury, North Carolina; his girlfriend, Yashisca S. Hardin, Charlotte, North Carolina; five aunts: Clara Richardson, Charlotte, North Carolina, Jaime Howard, Salisbury, North Carolina, Cookie (Reggie) Phillips, Texas, Linda (Antonio) Little, Concord, North Carolina and Kenyatta (AJ) Lott, Kannapolis, North Carolina; five uncles: Howard (Ashley) Shankle and Corey Brown, both of Charlotte, North Carolina, Manzel (Benita) Brown, Georgia, Johnnie (Bert) Sturdivant, Ansonville, North Carolina and Earnest Cunningham, Monroe, North Carolina; a host of cousins and close friends.
