Heaven’s Gate has opened for Mrs. Callie Mae Taylor Carpenter, age 89, who entered The Kingdom of the Lord, Monday, May 21, 2018 while a patient at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Albemarle, North Carolina. We are truly blessed to have shared our dearly beloved one’s life for so many wonderful years.
Callie was born August 25, 1928 in Anson County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mittie Buchannon Taylor. She attended the Anson County public schools; and was employed with Jefferies Manufacturing Company, Albemarle before retiring.
She was a Believer who was one of the oldest members of Barringer Chapel Baptist Church, Norwood, North Carolina. In her leisure, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she adored. Other pastimes included cooking a splendid meal, gardening and solving crossword puzzles.
Her parents and her siblings, twin brothers: Clyde and Pearl Taylor, Richard Taylor, Albert Fiber Taylor and sisters: Martha Clark, Lucy Robinson, Elizabeth Taylor and Bertha Mae Taylor preceded her in death.
She and Leroy Carpenter, Jr. were joined in Holy Matrimony for over sixty-nine years.
Callie’s life will forever be cherished and remembered by her husband, Leroy Carpenter Jr., Norwood; sons: Wayne Carpenter, Norwood and Robert (Tammy) Carpenter, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; daughters: Veta (Thomas) Dalton, Winston-Salem, Karen (Terry Watkins) Carpenter, Sandra (Orin) Colson, both of Norwood, Theresa Carpenter, Winston-Salem, Phyllis Carpenter (Robert Harrell), Albemarle, Crystal Caprenter and Keisha (Kenautis) Little, both of Norwood; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; sister, Katherine Wall, Albemarle; special friends: Beulenner Williams, Dorothy Little, and Hattie Dockery; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
