The After Glow

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.

 I'd like to leave an after-glow of smiles when life is done.

 I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

 Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

 I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun,

Of happy memories that I leave, when life is done.

Weldon Lee Solomon, age 79, took flight to his Heavenly Home, Monday, October 9, 2017 while a patient at Taylor House, Albemarle, North Carolina. Weldon was born April 27, 1938 in Louisburg, North Carolina and was the son of the late King Blount and Dora Brodie Solomon.

Weldon attended the public schools in Franklin County, North Carolina. For many years he was employed with Shell Gas Corporation. He was member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Albemarle, North Carolina where he was a member of the Usher Board, Men’s Choir, and Sunday School Ministry. He enjoyed reading the Bible and especially researching scriptures. In his leisure, he loved fishing and tending his garden.

Weldon was married to Verna Johnson Solomon.

Cherished memories are left to: one son, Edward Solomon, Sr. and his wife, Tywanda, Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Andreia Burke, and her husband, Lloyd, London, England; siblings: Roger (Barbara) Solomon, Queens, New York and Mamie Yarborough, New Jersey; four grandchildren: Edward Solomon, Jr., Brooklyn Solomon, Le’Dreia Watson and Alexus Burke; one great grandchild, I’Santi Roumou; a host of other relatives and friends.
