Verna Augusta Roseboro

Verna Augusta Roseboro, lovingly known as “Gussie” by family and friends entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 27,2017 while a patient at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Albemarle, North Carolina. We give thanks for Verna’s life and we are grateful for the many memories.

Born January 11, 1954, Verna was born in Stanly County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Robert and Delena Shipp Roseboro. She received her formal education in the Stanly County Schools and graduated from South Stanly High School, Norwood, North Carolina. For many years she was employed as a furniture finisher with Young’s Manufacturing Company. Verna enjoyed spending time with family, solving cross word puzzles and watching her favorite television shows.

Along with her parents, Verna was preceded in death by her siblings: Harold Roseboro, Dorothy Brown and Henrietta Roseboro Ingram.

Verna is survived by a loving and supportive family who will cherish her memory. Survivors are: a daughter, Lakeisha Tillman, Norwood, North Carolina; four brothers: Robert (Patricia) Roseboro and Van Horne both of Norwood, North Carolina, Thomas Roseboro, Charlotte, North Carolina, and James (Michelle) Roseboro, Albemarle, North Carolina; four sisters: Barbara Roseboro, Norwood, North Carolina, Mary Roseboro, Washington, District of Columbia, Helen (James) Edwards and Marian Morrison, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
