Sarah Jane (Cagle) Wright

August 3, 1938 ~ March 11, 2016 (age 77) 77 Years Old

A sweet, sweet spirit, a great mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend has crossed the River Jordan.  Sarah Jane Elenora Cagle Wright was born August 3, 1938 in Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina; and on Friday, March 11,2016, she died peacefully at her home in Badin, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Calvin and Ollie Polk Cagle.  It is most difficult to lose a loved one but we, her family, can find comfort and strength for the many years of joy we shared with our dear Mother.

Sarah received her formal education in the Stanly County public schools. Her most prized profession was that of a homemaker to her husband and seven children. When she sought employment it was in the food service industry where she was an excellent cook.

She enjoyed attending spirited church and gospel singing services as well as revivals and prayer service. Her church affiliations included: Saint Delight Church and Colston Street Church of God, both in Albemarle, North Carolina and Saint Mark Friendship Church of God, Badin, North Carolina.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at family gatherings which always entailed food, fun and fellowship. Sarah also enjoyed traveling and was always ready for adventure.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by; three sisters: Rachel Cagle Caple and Ruth Cagle Lawrence; a brother, Calvin Cagle, Jr.

Sarah was married to William E. Wright who preceded her in death after forty-seven years of marriage. He died in September 2007.

A legacy of love, devotion and fond memories will forever be treasured by her three sons: John Patrick (Pamela) Cagle, New London, North Carolina, Earl Wright, Jr, Polkton, North Carolina and William E. Wright, Richfield, North Carolina; four daughters: Gloria Robinson, Denice (Henry) Harris and Wilhemina (Jerry) Green, all of Badin, North Carolina and Rachel (Willie) Threadgill, Salisbury, North Carolina; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; sixteen great great-grandchildren; two brothers: Willie (Christine) Cagle and James Cagle, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; two sisters: Sadie Knight, Badin, North Carolina and Margie Neely, Granite Quarry, North Carolina ; four sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law;  special friend, Mildred Allen, Denise L.
