Rosetta Moses Clyburn

Rosetta "Sista" Moses Clyburn joined our Lord in eternal rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 while a patient at Wilora Lake Healthcare Center, Charlotte, North Carolina.  Our family is blessed to have shared a loving journey with our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  We give thanks for her life.

Born on May 28, 1940 in Kannapolis, North Carolina, Rosetta was the daughter of the late Clyburn Leroy and Rosie Lee Miller Moses.  She was educated in the Stanly County Public Schools and attended the historic Kingville High School, Albemarle, North Carolina.  Rosetta was employed for many years in the hotel hospitality industry but her most loved profession was as a homemaker to her family.  She was affiliated with the Church of God, Albemarle, North Carolina.  Rosetta’s hobbies included; solving jigsaw puzzles, dancing and spending  time with family, especially her grandchildren, who were the “love of her life”. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking a scrumptious meal.

Rosetta met and married Theron “ Frank” Clyburn.  They were companions for over 48 years and married in March 2002.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael D. Shankle; and siblings: James Moses, Lester Moses, Sammie Lee Moses and Mary Moses.

Rosetta was dedicated to her family and she will be remembered fondly by: her husband, Theron “Frank” Clyburn, Charlotte, North Carolina; a son, Theron “Ron” Clyburn, II; a step-son, Frank J. Mangrum (Sonya), Charlotte, North Carolina; four daughters: Phyllis A. Shankle, Charlotte, North Carolina, Patricia “Tish” Leake (Maurice), W. Babylon, New York, Casonya Kelly, Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Cynthia M Brown (Richard Mason), Charlotte, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren: Takhia, Israel, Ashanta, Donta, Montre, Terrence, Jeffrey, Jamison, DeOnte, Brandon, Montrea, and Shanise; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; six brothers: Lloyd Moses, David Moses, Leroy Moses, Herman Moses, Eward Moses , all of Albemarle, North Carolina and L.C. Moses, Croton-on-Hudson, New York; two sisters: Jessie Mae Scott and Sondra Williams, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
