Mrs. Rosa Mae Lee Watson, daughter of the late Dave and Julie Chambers Lee, was born February 24, 1924 in Anson County, North Carolina. She departed this life of 93 years on Sunday, June 11,2017 while a patient at Forest Oakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Albemarle, North Carolina.
She attended the public schools of Anson County and was a retired employee with Dun Rite Cleaners, Albemarle. At an early age, Mother Watson confessed Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and joined Saints Delight Holiness Church, Albemarle. She was a faithful and dedicated member for over 50 years and there she served on the following auxiliaries: the Usher Board, Missionary Board, and member of the Ladies Sunday School class. Mother Watson always gave her best and was well-loved and revered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Rosa and Jasper Watson were joined in Holy matrimony in 1946 and were the proud parents of six children.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jasper, she was preceded in death by two sons: Ernest Watson and June Lee; five grandchildren: Joseph Watson, Jr., Marcus Kendall, Joe Greene Foster, Shanquette Christian and Carson Christian, Jr; five siblings: John D. Hailey, Clarence Hailey, Charles Lee, Corabelle Hatley and Delia Crowder.
A legacy of love, devotion and fond memories will be treasured by those who survive. Three sons: James (Anita) Lee, Camden, New Jersey, Joseph (Victoria) Watson, Sr., Decatur, Georgia and James T. (Wanda) Watson, Atlanta, Georgia; three daughters: Betty (Jerry) Roberts, Conyers, Georgia, Mary (Alex) Bradley, Charlotte, North Carolina and Patricia Watson, Lithonia, Georgia; nineteen grandchildren; forty-one great grandchildren; fifteen great great-grandchildren; a brother, Tommy Lee, Albemarle, North Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Patty Watson, Badin, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law: Ruby Lee, Albemarle, North Carolina and Viola Redford, Charlotte, North Carolina; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
