Ronald Edward Harris

Ronald Edward Harris was born August 24,1953 in Cumberland County, North Carolina and was the son of the late Ed and Allene Kirk Harris. He entered Eternal rest on his birthday, Thursday, August 24, 2017 surrounded by his loving family in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. We give honor to our Lord and will forever be grateful for the years we shared our loved one’s life.

Ronnie as he was affectionately called attended the public schools of Stanly County, North Carolina. He was employed as a textile operator with Sara Lee Foods; and worked with his father in the pulpwood family business. He enjoyed fishing, playing chess, checkers and other board games. One of his greatest pastimes was going to the beach. Ronnie was known as ‘The Human GPS’ for he loved traveling and adventure.

Ronnie and his wife Carolyn Jordan Harris were married for over 40 years.

Ronnie leaves a legacy of love and fond memories to those who survive. They are: his wife, Carolyn J. Harris, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two sons: Derek Crump Sr., and Gerald Robinson, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; five daughters: Speechkle  “Meca”(Larry) Harris, Carie Boston and Keajah Harris, all of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Shunquetta Crump, Albemarle, North Carolina and Shannon Pettaway, Waterbury, Connecticut; six grandchildren: Larry Saunders, Kristian Saunders, Derek Crump Jr., Jordyn Crump, Victoree Crump and Makayla Cosgrove; one great grandchild, Aubrielle Saunders; eleven brothers: Clarence(Connie), Anthony, Steven Sr., Henry (Denice), Bobby (Kimberly),Nathan (Sarah), David, Stanley (Lori), James, Samuel and Michael Paul Harris; eight sisters: Phyllis Gramling, Winifred Kendall, Eddrena Knight, Tami(Larry) Leak, Jessie Rivers, Jacqueline Harris, Janet Little and Katherine Harris; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
