Robert Adam Hearne, affectionately called “Tico” was born January 25, 1945 in Stanly County, North Carolina. He departed his earthly life on Wednesday, March 9,2016. He was the son of the late Robert Adam and Malinda Miller Hampton Hearne. As we mourn the loss of our dear loved one, we reflect and give thanksgiving to the Almighty for his grace and mercy and for allowing us to share his life.
He was educated in the Stanly County, North Carolina public schools and attended the historic Kingville High School, Albemarle, North Carolina. “Tico” was employed for many years in the textile industry. His church affiliation was with Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Albemarle, North Carolina where he enjoyed the fellowship and friendship of many.
“Tico” enjoyed dancing, playing board games, especially Solitaire, and sitting on the porch with family and friends. He was an avid sports enthusiast. Every day was family time because he loved his family.
In addition to his parents, “Tico” was preceded in death by a stepson, Jeffrey Morrison; a sister, Perry L. Harris; and a brother, James A. Hampton.
He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Hearne, Albemarle, North Carolina; three daughters: Pamela Morrison, Marsha Hearne and Tyishia Hearne, all of Albemarle, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Jayden, Tiyana and Teyana; five sisters: Carolyn (James) Townsend, Northford, Connecticut, Linda (Andrew) Wilson, Wilmington, North Carolina, Judith H. Hearne and Mary H. Snuggs, both of Albemarle, North Carolina and Dorinda (James) Alston, Mt Gilead, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.
No, not cold beneath the grasses,
Not closed-walled within the tomb,
Rather, in our Father’s mansion,
Living, in another room.
Shall I doubt my Father’s mercy?
Shall I think of death as doom,
Or the stepping o’er the threshold
To a bigger, brighter room…
