Muriel H. Dunlap, daughter of the late Clarence Alfred and Charlie Lillian Hughes was born on August 23, 1943 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Ms. Dunlap attended Notre Dame High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. After high school she attended North Carolina A & T University, Greensboro, North Carolina receiving her Bachelor of Science degree. She later went on to receive her Bachelor of Social Work from Livingstone College, Salisbury, North Carolina.
Ms. Dunlap worked for Stanly County Department of Social Services until her retirement for 34 years. Her church affiliation was a member of Our Lady & the Annunciation Catholic Church, Albemarle, North Carolina. She didn’t find shopping to be a hobby, but every chance she got, you would find her in a store somewhere “browsing”. She enjoyed reading and was a collector of various styles of ‘bells”. Muriel was a social butterfly which once she met you, you had a friend for life.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Vernell A. Hughes who died in June, 2000 and a very special friend, Robert Little.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her family: Veronica (Jimmy) Leake, Robin Little, Charlene Little, Craig Little, Denise Wall, Dietra (Roger) Williams, Donna Wall, Debra Wall and Shirley Morgan; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
