On Monday, January 22, 2018, our beloved Mary Lillie Morrison Stewart, entered Eternal rest. An only child, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Lillie Mae Chambers Morrison. Mary was born September 10,1924 in Moore County, North Carolina. To God, we give glory and honor for our dear Mary’s life. We will cherish her memory and will forever count our blessings for knowing and loving her for so many years.
Mary was educated in the Moore County public schools. She was a faithful member of Saints Delight Church, Albemarle, North Carolina until failing health prevented her attendance. At Saints Delight she enjoyed spirited church services and was a member of the Pastor’s Aid Auxiliary. Mary was an excellent cook, and everyone enjoyed her homemade cakes. Other interest included: knitting, crocheting, sewing and fishing.
She was married to Robert A. Stewart who preceded her in death. A grandson, John W. Bovain, Jr. also preceded her in death.
Those who survive and who will remember Mary fondly are: a daughter, Bernice Bovain, Jackson Springs, North Carolina; two great grandchildren: Shamala Miller and Terrence Miller; two great great-grandchildren; a surrogate grandson, Montorya O. Brooks, Albemarle, North Carolina; special friends: Betty Edwards, Shirley Gould and Lou Ann Ingram, all of Albemarle, North Carolina; other relatives and friends.
“Good night, dear Mary, may flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest!”
