Margaret (Simms) Kindell

Margaret Simms Kindell, age 87, the daughter of the late Rubin and Mary McCoye Simms, was born February 2,1929 in York County, South Carolina. Margaret answered the call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her family. We give thanksgiving for the many years we shared Margaret’s life and will miss her dearly.

She was a graduate of the formerly known Badin Negro High School, later renamed West Badin High School, Badin, North Carolina. After graduation Margaret worked tirelessly in her community caring for the young and old. She was a devoted and faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Badin where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Usher Board.  She was a former member of  Meals on Wheels, The Elks Club and The Optimist Club where she served as treasurer.

Margaret was joined in Holy Matrimony to James Kindell who died in 1968.  In addition to James and her parents, a son, Ernie A. Kindell, and two sisters: Thelma Cole and Josephine Lipscomb, preceded her in death.

Fond memories and a legacy of love are left with two sons: Frederick (Julia) Kindell, Albemarle, North Carolina, and Kenneth Kindell, Beulahville, North Carolina; two daughters: Mary Brown, New London, North Carolina and Janice Little, Badin, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Donnie (Janet) Simms, Brooklyn, New York; a devoted caretaker, Phyllis Hamilton, Badin, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
