Lonzie Caple

Lonzie Caple, age 65, gave up time for Eternity on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, while a patient at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center, Albemarle, North Carolina.  Born June 21, 1951 in Albemarle, North Carolina, Lonzie was the son of the late Charlie, Sr., and Gracie Thomas Caple.  He attended the Stanly County public schools; and was employed with the City of Charlotte and Piedmont Plastic prior to his retirement.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Badin, North Carolina. Lonzie enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family. In high school, he was a “star” football and basketball player. He was an avid reader and read the Charlotte Observer daily before his health declined.

In addition to his parents, Lonzie was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Caple.

Dedicated loving family members left to mourn Lonzie’s passing are: six brothers: Charlie (Willie Mae) Caple, Jr., Sylvester (Elaine) Caple, Leon Caple, Ponzie (Althea) Caple, Martin Caple and Bobby Caple; three sisters: Elizabeth Moore, Virginia Terry and Audrey (Michael) Duke; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
