Lester Otto Parker, affectionately called, “Ben”, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 2, 2017. We, his family and friends, bow in humble submission to our Lord’s Will. We give thanksgiving for the years we shared Ben’s life and will never forget the fond memories.
“Ben” was the twin son born in Stanly County, North Carolina, December 4, 1959 to the late Otto and Josephine Robinson Parker. He attended the public schools of Stanly County and graduated in the Class of 1978-Albemarle Senior High School, Albemarle, North Carolina. Ben was employed for over seventeen years with Piedmont Landscaping Company, Richfield, North Carolina; and at the time of his death he was employed with Bushwackers Landscaping Company, New London, North Carolina.
He was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Albemarle where he enjoyed the fellowship and friendship of many. During his leisure, Ben enjoyed riding his motorcycles, cooking, lawn work which included landscaping and manicuring a lawn, listening to “old school” music and fishing. He was a great conversationalist as he never met a stranger. He always enjoyed social gatherings.
His brothers: Clarence Parker and Dewey Parker also preceded him in death.
Ben is survived by, a daughter, Kichavis L. Sellers, Albemarle, North Carolina; a son, Damoris B. Tyson, Albemarle, North Carolina; two godchildren: Taris Townsend, Albemarle, North Carolina and Chikuita Tyson, Salisbury, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; two brothers: his twin, Foster (Machelle) Parker, Albemarle, North Carolina and Joseph (Yong) Robinson, Killeen, Texas; four sisters: Dorothy Robinson and Sonya Robinson, both of Durham, North Carolina, Vivian Lindsey, Columbus, Ohio and Alice V. Parker, Albemarle, North Carolina; a faithful companion, Norine Gail Robinson, Albemarle, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
