LaShawn Trea Phifer

Twenty-nine (29) years ago God sent a precious gift to Erica Phifer Dixson and Efrid Cato. A baby daughter, Lashawn Trea Phifer, was born March 24, 1987 in Stanly County, North Carolina. God allowed us to share LaShawn’s life and on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, in His infinite wisdom called her home. We, her family and friends, bow in humble submission and thank God for his grace and mercy.

LaShawn was educated in the public schools of Stanly County and graduated from Albemarle Senior High-Class of 2005. She enjoyed school and was always ready to accept a challenge. She attended Queens College, Charlotte, North Carolina where she obtained certifications in the fields of nursing and pharmacy. LaShawn enjoyed singing. Never idle, she always sought a new and better career path. She was employed in food services at North Carolina A & T State University, Greensboro, North Carolina.

Those left to cherish LaShawn’s memory are: her son, Akari Snuggs, Greenboro, North Carolina; her parents: Erica (Shawn) Dixson, Charlotte, North Carolina and Efrid (Crystal) Cato; five sisters: Anita Dixson, Charlotte, North Carolina, Shannon Cato, Concord, North Carolina, Shanel Cato, New London, North Carolina, Ariel Wall and Denise Wall, both of Albemarle, North Carolina ; three brothers: Treshawn Dixson, Greensboro, North Carolina, Braxton Wall and Joseph Wall, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; grandparents: Bernice P. (Melvin) Wiggins, Greensboro, North Carolina, Elder Linda(Douglas) Turner and Willie J. Horton, all of Albemarle, North Carolina; two aunts: Terica Phifer and Sadaria Tyson, both of  Albemarle, North Carolina; great aunt, Prophetess Elaine Scott, Brooklyn, New York; uncle, William Jackson, Albemarle, North Carolina; special friends: Tyiesha Hearne and Kedra Spencer, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
