Isiah Horton

As his arms and hands lost strength to hold the rope of life, MR. ISAIAH HORTON departed this earthly life on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his home in New London, North Carolina surrounded by his family.  We, the family and friends, thank GOD for allowing us to share in his life.  “Every time I remember you, every time I think of you, we say thank “GOD”.  -Philippians 1:1-4.

Born August 5, 1946 in Stanly County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Willie Lee Horton, Sr. and Anna Thomas Horton. He was a graduate of Kingsville High School, Albemarle, North Carolina.  He later went on to attend Essex State University, majoring in Drafting and Engineering.  Isaiah further his studies in Welding at the Stanly Community College, Albemarle, North Carolina.   He was last employed until his retirement at Alcoa as a welder, Badin, North Carolina.  Not known for sitting around the house, Isaiah went back to work part-time at Davis Scrap Metal and Welding, Norwood, North Carolina.

Isaiah accepted Christ at an early age.  He attended several churches in the area which allowed him to be blessed in fellowship with many.  His favorite hobbies were fishing, cooking, welding and building motorcycles. 

He was preceded in death along with his parents, three brothers: Jerry Dan Horton, Donald Keith Horton and Michael Thomas Horton and a sister, Juanita Bullock

Isaiah leaves to cherish his memory: a son, Ondrea (Debbie) Davis, Albemarle, North Carolina; two daughters, Nikki Lasonya Sellers, New London, North Carolina and Farra Ozella (Tony) Peek, Sr., Norwood, North Carolina; five grandchildren: Terris B. Sellers, Farrah S. Richardson, Tony B. Peek, Jr., Angelo M. Lofton, and Armand M. Lofton; two great-grandchildren: Jhace E. Sellers and Zion Sellers; four brothers: Willie Horton, Jr., John Wayne Horton, Stopper Jones Horton and Robert Joe Horton, all of Albemarle, North Carolina; three sisters: Mary Lee (Pearl) Pemberton and Ethel Marie Lockhart, both of Albemarle, North Carolina and Nancy Ann (Jerome) Holland, Kannapolis, North Carolina;  a very special and dear friend, Deborah Horton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
