Welcome to the memorial page for

Evelyn Rose (Owens) Troutman

April 3, 1941 ~ November 15, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Evelyn Rose Owens Troutman, age 76, entered Eternal rest Wednesday, November 15, 2017 while a patient at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Albemarle, North Carolina. Born April 3, 1941 in Stanly County, North Carolina, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Leroy James and Mattie Louise Baldwin Owens. During this most joyous season, we give thanksgiving to Our Almighty Lord and Savior for sharing his daughter with us. We will be forever grateful for the many family and friends who have shown their love and helped to make her transition a little more comforting.

She was educated in the public schools of Stanly County. Evelyn was a self-employed cosmetologist and certified nursing assistant for many years. She loved people and was involved in church and community. At Parkers Grove Baptist Church, New London, North Carolina, where she was a member, Evelyn was licensed in the Ministry. Her stewardship was apparent as she was a member of the Pastors Aide, Ushers Board and former Sunday School teacher. She was a past president of the Holy Week Alliance and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons: Jeffrey Kirk and Phillip Owens; brothers: Sam Owens, Jim Owens, Reverend Harry Lee Owens and Johnnie Frank Owens; sisters, Peggy Griffin and Gaynelle Slater, who died November 14, 2017.

She is survived by her sons: Gregory (Judy) Haywood, Misenheimer, North Carolina and Stan (Farrah) Owens, Albemarle, North Carolina; daughters: Shelia D. Owens, Dayton, Ohio and Leslie Owens, Richfield, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren; ten great grand-children; brothers: Gary (Trina) Owens, Kearnsville, North Carolina and Roy (Betty) Owens, New London, North Carolina; sisters: Addie Mae Picket and Minister Vanessa (Kenneth) Chambers, both of New London, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 May God grant you always

A sunbeam to warm you,

A sheltering Angel so nothing can harm you.

 Laughter to cheer you.

Faithful friends near you.

And whenever you pray-Heaven to hear you.
