A Time To Be Born…

Ed Harris was born on January 13, 1924 in Anson County, North Carolina to the late Henry and Martha Christian Harris.  He was outgoing, willing to help his fellow man  and always greeted you with a million dollar smile.

A Time To Serve…

Soon after moving to Stanly County, Ed started his own Pulp Wood business, Harris & Son Pulp Wood.  He was the first African American to use a chain saw in Montgomery County.

A Time To Laugh…

His laughter came by spreading love to everyone he knew, especially his family.  He loved fishing, gardening, raising animals, playing Solitarie, watching his daytime talk shows, spending time with all of his grands, great-grands and great-great-grands and watching his favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves.

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray: when in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep that in His mercy I be judged Big enough to keep.   Fishman Prayer~
