Dexter Cornelius Patterson

Dexter Cornelius Patterson, age 70, departed this earthly life, Monday, March 20,2017 in Albemarle, North Carolina. Born July 5, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Joseph and Irene Stevenson Patterson.

He received his formal education in the Baltimore City School System; and was employed as a cook in the catering department with the University of Baltimore. Dexter served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Photography, cooking and watching movies on television were hobbies he dearly enjoyed.

Those who survive Dexter are: two sons: Daniel (Toni) Patterson, Durham, North Carolina and Raymond (Nadia) Patterson, Fayetteville, North Carolina; one daughter, Dawn Brown, New London, North Carolina; five grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Death Is a Doorway

On the “Wings of Death”

The “Soul takes Flight”

Into the land where

“There Is No Night”--

For those who believe

What the Savior said

Will rise in glory

Though they be dead…

So death comes to us

Just to “Open the Door”

To the Kingdom Of God

And Life Evermore.
