Brodus Blanding

Ambassador Brodus Eugene Blanding answered God’s call and on Thursday, June 23,2016 left his earthly home and entered into eternal rest. We, his family and friends, give thanks to the Almighty for his grace and mercy; we give thanksgiving for the time we were able to share his life.

Born May 8,1949 in Stanly County, North Carolina, Brodus was the son of the late Albert, Jr. and Maxine Evans Blanding. He received his formal education in the Stanly County public schools and graduated from Albemarle Senior High School, Class of 1967.He furthered his education at Stanly and Rowan Community Colleges and received a teacher’s certificate. He had a passion for education and was employed as a teacher’s assistant for many years before his retirement. Never idle, Brodus was also a subcontractor in the concrete industry.

He was affiliated and served as pastor for The Word Became Flesh Ministry, Albemarle, North Carolina.

Brodus and Bertha Drye Blanding were joined in Holy Matrimony for over 25 years. They were loving and devoted parents to Marcus and Robert.

Those left to cherish a legacy of love and fond memories are, his wife, Bertha D. Blanding, Albemarle, North Carolina; two sons: Marcus (Dineo) Ingram, Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Robert A. Ingram, Stockbridge, Georgia; two grandchildren: Jeremiah Ingram and Kago Gaofhiwe-Ingram; stepchildren: Robert Rydell (Trudy) Allen and Bernita Elaine Clark, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; two brothers: Herman Y. Blanding, Badin, North Carolina and Ronald K. Blanding, New Jersey; two sisters: Elder Olivia Gail( Charles) Kilgore, Salisbury, North Carolina and Siesta (Johnny) Rushing, Albemarle, North Carolina; extended family: Brooks (Maxine) Boulware, Clemmons, North Carolina, Howard(Doris) Boulware, Dallas, North Carolina, Senora Boulware, Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Mary Gaines, Badin, North Carolina; a host of other relatives, friends and The Word Became Flesh Church Family.
