Bobby Joe Gramling was born on July 13, 1946, in Stanly County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Lester and Willis Reed Gramling. On Saturday, February 20,2016, he entered into eternal rest while a patient at Stanly Manor, Albemarle, North Carolina. Although it is difficult to lose a loved one, we are forever grateful for the time shared with Bobby.
He was a 1965 graduate of West Badin High School, Badin, North Carolina. After high school he enlisted and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was employed for several years as an assembler with Freightliner’s Trucking Company, Cleveland, North Carolina. His hobbies included cooking, automobile maintenance and watching his favorite television shows which included: The Rifleman, Gunsmoke, N.C.I.S., Law-In-Order, The Sopranos and JAG. He also enjoyed hunting. Bobby always enjoyed life and was a “one of a kind” person.
He was formerly married to Brenda Lilly Gramling.
Cherished and fond memories are left with: a son, Michael A. Gramling, Albemarle, North Carolina; two daughters: Theresa C. Ruffin, New London, North Carolina and Jennifer N. Martin, Belmont, North Carolina; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five sisters: Lola A. (Larry) Pemberton, Delois G. Watkins and Pauline G. (Gary) McCorkle all of New London, North Carolina, Carrie R. Gramling, Mt. Holly, North Carolina and Barbara Ann Gramling, Charlotte, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
