Bertha Mae Taylor affectionately known as “Bert” was born November 5,1934 in Wadeboro, Anson County, North Carolina. She gave up time for Eternity on Tuesday, June 14,2016 while a patient at Woodhaven Court, Albemarle, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mittie Bucchannon Taylor. Our mother was dear to so many, and her presence will be greatly missed. We are thankful for the years we shared her life.
Bert received her formal education in the Stanly County public schools and attended Kingville High School, Albemarle, North Carolina. She retired from Michelin Tire Manufacturing where she worked in food service. Bert was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Ansonville, North Carolina. She was a great conversationist and enjoyed talking with others. Her favorite saying was, “Tell It”. She also was an avid sports enthusiast who loved the game of basketball, making cakes and gardening, as she was a lover of beautiful flowers.
In addition to her parents Bert was preceded in death by a son, Henry L. Taylor; her siblings: twin brothers, Clyde and Pearl Taylor, Richard Taylor, Albert Fiber Taylor, Martha Cook, Lucy Robinson and Elizabeth Taylor.
Cherished and fond memories will forever be treasured by her sons: Haywood (Cindy) Taylor, Troy, North Carolina, Robert Taylor, Charlotte, North Carolina and Terry Lee Taylor, Norwood, North Carolina; her daughters: Patricia “Ann” Taylor, Albemarle, North Carolina and Vanessa (Marvin) Spencer, Matthews, North Carolina; 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; her sisters: Katharine Wall, Albemarle, North Carolina and Callie Mae (Leroy) Carpenter, Norwood, North Carolina; a host of other relatives and countless friends.
